The Ashland Garden Club holds one or two major fundraising events each year to fund plantings in public spaces around Ashland and to share our passion for gardening, nature and building a sense of community in Ashland.

Upcoming Events:

  • Free Winter Gardening Workshop on February 4, 2012!

The Ashland Garden Club will hold a free winter gardening workshop on Saturday, February 4, 2012, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, at the Ashland Public Library, 66 Front Street. (Snow date is Saturday, February 18.) An interesting program will be given by two Mass. Horticulture Master Gardeners: Dr. Paul Steen and Kathy Gariepy. Paul's talk will be on planting and maintaining house plants, and Kathy will show us how to pot up and force bulbs for an early spring. Take a break from winter and join us for refreshments and a timely program! View the full program.

Winter Presentations

Our second Winter Presentation took place on January 30, 2010. Participants were inspired and informed by slide shows on Cary Award-Winning Plants by Wayne Mezitt of Weston Nurseries and Seasons in my Garden by renowned Ashland gardener Lois Tougas. Thanks again to all involved!

On January 31, 2009, we held our first (and free!) Winter Workshop, Sights and Sounds of Winter, at the Ashland Public Library. Thanks to the many people who turned out! A slide show on winter birding and a demonstration on creating an indoor dish garden helped make the long winter more enjoyable for our participants. View our photos.

Spring Plant Sale

On the Saturday of Mother's Day Weekend every May, the garden club holds a plant sale at Montenegro Square from 9 am - 12 noon. Large, healthy plants from members' gardens are available at reasonable prices. Come by and pick up some great plants along with free gardening advice.

Summer Garden Symposium

For summer 2008, we held a Garden Symposium on Fresh Ideas and Inspiring Spaces. It was a lovely day with informative speakers and demonstrations, good food and good fun. View our photos.

Autumn Garden Event

For Fall 2011 we held "Autumn in Ashland," a full day of garden activities in one of Ashland's most spectacular private gardens. Activities included guided garden tours, speakers, demonstrations and raffles, as well as a delicious luncheon provided by garden club members.

Garden Tours

We are constantly discovering amazing hidden gardens here in Ashland to share with you on our next Garden Tour. Join us for the tour - it's a wonderful way to spend a day and see Ashland in a new light.
